The Creepshow

Canada's reigning monarchs of psychobilly, the Creepshow fuse a fondness for classic horror flicks with a punk-flavored take on high-octane rockabilly, which has earned them a loyal fan following in the Great White North, as well as Europe and the United States. Hailing from Burlington, Ontario, the Creepshow were formed in 2005 with an initial lineup of singer/guitarist Jen "Hellcat" Blackwood, upright bassist Sean "Sickboy" McNab, keyboardist Kristian "The Reverend" Rowles, and drummer Matt "Pomade" Gee. The Creepshow wasted no time building a reputation for their outrageous live shows and manic on-stage energy, and after appearing on the compilation album Zombie Night in Canada, Vol. 2, they signed with Canadian punk label Stereo Dynamite Recordings, which released the group's first long-player, Sell Your Soul, in the spring of 2006. A few weeks later, Stereo Dynamite landed a distribution deal with the Canadian branch of EMI, and the Creepshow suddenly found themselves with major-label distribution for their no-quarter "hellbilly" music. Extensive touring followed, and before long the Creepshow were one of Canada's most talked-about new bands. Run for Your LifeIn January 2007, Hellcat amicably left the band and was replaced on vocals and guitar by her sister Sarah "Sin" Blackwood. Following the release of the 2008 follow-up LP Run for Your Life, the band spent the year touring both North America and Europe, playing a stint on the Warped Tour, and even making a couple of tour stops in Russia. The Creepshow's third album, They All Fall Down, arrived in August 2010 via Stomp Records, and would prove to be their last with Sarah "Sin" Blackwood, whose cover of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" with fellow Canadians Walk Off the Earth went viral in early 2012. Blackwood soon left to join Walk Off the Earth full-time, and her replacement, Kenda "Twisted" Legaspi, was introduced to the band's fan base. Both Legaspi and incoming guitarist Daniel Flamm made their Creepshow recorded debuts on Life After Death, which was again released by Stomp Records in late 2013. Over the next few years, the Creepshow continued to tour frequently throughout Europe and North America, embarking on a tenth anniversary tour in 2015 that included a headlining slot at Britain's Rebellion Festival. They eventually returned to the studio, emerging in 2017 with their fifth long-player, Death at My Door.
